Good People!
Hey there,
So I bought a car on Thursday last week. I paid cash, after working really hard this whole semester. Yesterday, though, somebody hit it.
I was pretty disappointed. The car’s body was in perfect shape, despite it being fifteen years old. Now, there’s a big dent in the side panel and the perfect paint job was scratched.
It happened in the parking lot outside of Tiff’s Treats, where I had left my car for a few hours to go with a friend I’d met there.
When I came back to my car, I didn’t notice anything but then I noticed a note. It said “Hey, I’m so sorry but I hit your car on the rear driverside tire. Call me at xxxxx —Monica.” When I called her, she told me that once somebody had hit-and-run with her car, and she didn’t want that to happen to anybody else.
She had already filed a claim with her insurance for my car, and she made the whole thing really, really easy.
Some people don’t believe in straight-up altruism, but this is why I do.
